Sacramento Breweries

We have been spending a lot of time in Sacramento due to events and thanksgiving weekend. Therefore, we got to check out numerous breweries some that just opened recently. Added 5 more to the list to bring us to 144!

Knee Deep

Knee Deep Brewing – Lincoln, CA

I owe this one completely to my husband. In the name of beer we left Santa Rosa as 4:30 to get to Knee Deep before it closed at 8pm. (They are only open for Loading Dock Growler hours on Fridays form 5-8pm. ) Friday rush hour didn’t help. My poor husband was starving and took one for the team to make it on time. We end up at 7:45pm  and got our growler.  This place had a lot of charm. Literally a loading dock with tap handles. All you need. Great HOPPY beers.  Side Note: now they are open on Saturdays. I’m not telling my husband.

Black Dragon

Black Dragon Brewing – Woodland, CA

A home brew shop that added a taproom/brewery. What a great idea for people drinking and becoming inspired to brew their own beer. Opened October 2012. We visited in November and they had two of their house beers on tap. Gypsy Blonde and the Dutch Dragon Porter. The Porter was fantastic and brewed with local Dutch Coffee Bros. Didn’t have growlers yet or we would have left with some Porter.

American River Brewing

American River Brewing – Rancho Cordova, CA

Opened April 2012, another great addition to the Sacramento area. No fancy frills just a tap room with good beer and a open window to view the brewery. Standouts were the Golden and the Coloma Brown Ale. They have food trucks most days.

Loomis

Loomis Basin Brewing – Loomis, CA

A brewery was have wanted to visit multiple times, but limited hours make it hard. We finally got our chance thanksgiving weekend. Hopping place with lots of locals picking up growlers. Always a great thing to see. Support your local brewery.

Roseville

Roseville Brewing – Roseville, CA

Roseville Brewing is doing it right. They were very busy on a Saturday night we arrived.  There were a lot of stand outs in the sampler, especially the Heavy Rail Pale Ale, Spike Driver, and Cinnamon Coffee Stout (!) The brewer/owner noticed we were interested and asked if we wanted a tour. Highly impressed with the attention to detail, especially when they were so busy. So glad we visited!

So impressed with my hometown. Sac Town is becoming a beer town! 15 breweries in and around Sacramento. Perfect for beer travelers and weekend getaways.
